Combining LiDAR and 3D sensors, Samsung Introduces Robot Vacuum Cleaner with Al technology

Samsung Electronics has showcased a new household assistant innovation at CES 2021 called the JetBot 90 AI +. This smart vacuum combines robot technology systems and artificial intelligence or Artificial Intelligence (Al) in each of its features.
Thanks to both, the robotic vacuum can help complete the user's daily cleaning tasks. John Herrington, Senior Vice President, General Manager of Home Appliances, said that this new equipment innovation will inspire a family of consumers who can simultaneously help make life at home easier in ways never thought possible before. This robotic vacuum cleaner comes using a combination of sensors and improved object recognition technology. This LiDAR sensor in a vacuum is a similar technology that is presented in driverless cars.
This sensor is able to detect the distance and track the location for the movement that is predicted to be accurate. Meanwhile, 3D sensors are tasked with recognizing differences between objects such as toys or chair legs, detecting small objects on the floor, and recognizing the shape of the room to move around them.

The object recognition algorithm will then identify objects of all types and map the most safe and efficient routes. Then, JetBot 90 AI + will take this information to clean up close items on the floor while maintaining a safe distance from fine debris and avoiding dangerous obstructions. When cleaning the floor, this advanced digital inverter motor immersed in a robotic vacuum will maximize suction power. 30W of the Jet Cyclone system to suck air dust and dirt off the floor.
In addition, its automatic cleaning brush made of fine woven textile fibers is believed to be able to suck out dust and reach into small crevices. When finished cleaning the floor, the JetBot 90 AI + will automatically return to the Clean Station or Samsung exhaust system.

Then the JetBot 90 AI + will empty the collected dirt, dust, and hair into the container and only need to be replaced every two to three months. This robotic vacuum is used by connecting to a cellphone via the Samsung SmartThings application.Through this application, interestingly users can schedule cleaning, set up dangerous zones at home, and can monitor the house even when traveling. For additional information, JetBot 90 AI + has been awarded the CES Innovation Awards 2021 and will be available in the United States in the first half of 2021.
